Inn Policies & Procedures
Making Reservations
Reservations are required for all services. We suggest making your Boarding reservations 2 weeks in advance for non-peak dates, and 4-6 weeks for high-travel periods (see ‘Peak Periods’ below). Boarding reservations require a 70% deposit at the time of creation.
We recommend day & night care2 reservations a minimum of 3 days in advance during non-peak times, and 2+ weeks during peak periods (see Peak Periods below).
Cancelling Reservations
For Day & Night Care2
During non-peak dates we require 24 hours’ notice. Cancellations and no-shows within the 24 hours will be charged 100% of the total for the reservation. Your signed Membership gives ADI permission to charge this fee to the card on file.
During peak travel periods we require 72 hours (3 days) notice. Cancellations and no-shows within the 24 hours will be charged 100% of the total reservation. Your signed Membership gives ADI permission to charge this fee to the card on file.
Five no-shows within 45 days will result in a Membership review.
For Boarding Care2:
During non-peak dates we require 48 hours’ notice. Cancellations and no-shows within the 48 hours will be charged 70% of the reservation total. Your signed Membership gives ADI permission to charge this fee to the card on file.
During peak travel periods we require 96 hours (4 days) notice. Cancellations and no-shows within the 4 days will be charged 70% of the total reservation. Your signed Membership gives ADI permission to charge this fee to the card on file.
Service Alterations
In the event that your dog seems unhappy with the chosen type of Care2, we will switch their services appropriately. We will attempt to contact you as soon as possible to share the details of the changes, but your signed Membership gives ADI permission to make these changes and charge any differences to your card on file, or credit you accordingly. By unhappy we mean: unusual behavior for your dog, excessive rowdiness, picking on other guests, inappropriate behavior that remains unchanged with repeated redirection/corrections.

Personal Belongings & Food
While we sometimes recommend a single comfort item from home, we ensure the happiness of all guests with toys, treats, pillows, blankets, beds, and oodles of engagement and enrichment with our caring staff, so please keep your pet’s belongings at home. We are not liable for lost or destroyed items, and will not replace them.
Please bring only the food necessary for the length of your dog’s stay. In case of overseas travel we recommend at least 2 days’ extra food in case of travel complications. We have stainless steel bowls and scoops which are washed and sanitized between uses, so you can keep yours at home.
Your membership includes collar, harness, leash and seasonal gear at the Inn, so please keep your belongings at home. Remember to bring them back for pick-up though! 😊
Medications & Supplements
All medications and supplements must come in their original packaging with prescription labels attached where appropriate. Everything you wish to be administered during your dog’s stay must be included in their current profile. Please do NOT put any type of medications or supplements into your dog’s food, be it in pill, powder, liquid, or other format.
Vaccinations
For the health and safety of all our guests and staff we require up-to-date vaccination records for Rabies, DHPP, and Bordatella, administered by a licensed Veterinarian. We also recommend Leptospirosis because we are located in a country setting. Heartworm treatments are also highly recommended. We accept titer tests for dogs over 3 years old (except for rabies) which is required by law in Ontario.
Spay/ Neuter
We accept all dogs: spayed, neutered or unaltered. However, dogs in our Day & Night or Hybrid Care2 options who are distracting or disruptive will be switched to Solo Care2.
Unaltered females currently in heat cannot receive services, but are welcome to return after their cycle ends.
Flea and Tick Prevention
Flea and Tick treatments are required for all guests once the temperature is above 4 degrees Celsius. We are happy to give oral treatments while your doggy is staying with us (included with Concierge Membership, $2 charge otherwise). Topical treatments should be given at home at least 2 hours prior to arriving at the Inn.
Temperament Requirements
During our Membership assessment process, we will have your doggo(s) stay at the Inn to assess their behavior in various environments and situations, as well as their level of training, and generally learn about them! This will also allow us to recommend the best type of Care2 for your furry friend.
Ontario Banned Breeds
As per the Dog Owners’ Liability Act (DOLA), we are unable to accept the following dogs:
- A pit bull terrier
- A Staffordshire bull terrier
- An American Staffordshire terrier
- An American pit bull terrier
- A dog that has an appearance and physical characteristics substantially similar to any of those dogs.
