About All Dogs Inn
What is Care2?
Care2 is the name we’ve given to our engagement and enrichment protocols – which is a jargon-y way of saying how we ensure your dogs are receiving the absolute best care in every aspect: training, nutrition, health and safety, and physical and mental fitness.
What are Engagement & Enrichment and why are they important enough to be included in all services?
Engagement is your dog’s ability to give you their attention and focus.
Enrichment is creating opportunities and activities for dogs to use their natural instincts thereby improving their mental, emotional and physical well-beings. There are 5 types of enrichment:
- Social
- Cognitive
- Physical
- Sensory
- Nutritional
Using both engagement and enrichment will give your pooch a full and balanced life, with a deep and meaningful connection to you, their human family, human friends, and their dog buddies. How does it do that? Engagement encourages your bond by repeatedly rewarding and encouraging your dog to give you their attention and focus, while enrichment allows them to exercise their minds and bodies, resulting in overall well-being.
All Dogs Inn is committed to creating an environment for your dog(s) to maintain their existing training, good habits and behaviors, and develop even more.
Do I need a reservation?
In short, yes! The Inn is a membership-based dog boarding and care facility, so before making a reservation you would need to become a member. Existing members are encouraged to make reservations in advance. We suggest making your Boarding reservations 2 weeks in advance for non-peak dates, and 4-8 weeks for high-travel periods (see ‘Peak Periods’ below). Boarding reservations require a 70% deposit at the time of creation.
We recommend day & night care2 reservations a minimum of 3 days in advance during non-peak times, and 2+ weeks during peak periods (see Peak Periods below).
How often will my dog(s) go outside?
While the weather will play a small part in precisely how much time we are outside, we want to be outside with your dog(s) as much as possible! In general, there will be “potty breaks” 3 times a day (at minimum), plus 2-6 hours of time in our outdoor play park! The exact amount of time will depend on which Care2 option you chose, and is limited by extreme weather conditions (above 32°c, below -9°c, gusting winds, lightning).
We closely monitor each dog and will move them indoors if they appear stressed or uncomfortable with the environment.
Why are there no cages?
We have created a home environment for your beloved dogs. And like home, our guests can spend their time with loving staff AND their dog buddies. We’ve intentionally designed our spaces to allow dogs to be dogs – chill zones, play spaces and eating areas – and all our Care2 options provide routines that dogs thrive on and LOVE! This is also possible with our temperament assessment during our new membership in-take process. However, dogs are den animals and given the evidence-based advantages of crate training, our spaces have built-in ‘dens’ so they can self-select to snuggle solo, or cuddle in a cave with a chum.
What kinds of events do you have for the dogs?
Do you like receiving photos of your dog either dressed up or in a themed environment having a blast, alone or with their dog buddies? We do too! These types of themes also allow us to have fun creating new engagement and enrichment activities for our amazing guests! Here are some examples: Tulip Tuesday in Spring, Beach party in Summer, Apple picking party in early Autumn, Winter Wonderland Wednesday in Winter.
You have family events too?!?
We love our client community! And to foster a sense of community among our amazing members we host 6-10 events per year for YOU. Here are some examples of the whole family events we will host: Wine & Wags, Tails & Ales, Pause with Paws (meditation), Licks & Lox (brunch), Downward Dogs (yoga), Paints & Paws (painting for people), Bonfire bow-wow, Doggy Demos (our staff will show off your dogs’ obedience/agility/scent work skills).
Do you offer any discounts?
We do! Aside from occasional bundle sales, we offer 50% off membership, with 5% off all services for Military and National Service Dogs clients.
Membership
Why is All Dogs Inn using a membership model?
We’ve chosen this model to facilitate partnership with our clients in their dog-ownership journeys; whether you’ve owned dogs your whole life, have recently begun this life-affirming, joy-inducing ride, or would like to join the party, we are here to offer the support you and your dog(s) need! ADI is here to share your dog ownership responsibilities and keep you aware of the latest evidence-based practices and modalities. Even more than this, we’ve spent an absurd amount of time thinking through how to design and create a world-class facility for all our stakeholders: client members, dog guests, staff, vendors and suppliers, and local dog-related community.
How do I become a member?
We’re so glad you asked! Firstly, we want to set everyone up for success with some boundaries: all dogs must (1) have completed (or be willing and committed to) basic obedience and (2) crate training; (3) dogs must be fully house-trained and do their ‘business’ outside only; and finally (4) dogs must have learned the fine art of sharing.
With these in place we’ve created a wonderful starting point for all our guests and their families!
Next you’ll schedule a virtual call with our management to complete the initial survey. This is one of our favorite parts because it is the basis of long and rewarding relationships with clients and their dogs! We’ll get to know about your dog(s) and your lives: history, medical background, lifestyle, behavior, nutrition, hygiene and goals. Equipped with this knowledge we will be best able to: help you achieve the goals for your dog(s), make recommendations for services, and be your dog ownership support team! At the end of the call we will schedule your dog(s)’s get-to-know-you visit, during which you will have an opportunity to view our facility.

What should I bring to the Inn for my dog’s stay?
While we sometimes recommend a single comfort item from home, we ensure the happiness of all guests with toys, treats, pillows, blankets, beds, and oodles of engagement and enrichment with our caring staff, so please keep your pet’s belongings at home. We are not liable for lost or destroyed items, and will not replace them.
Please bring only the food necessary for the length of your dog’s stay. In case of overseas travel we recommend at least 2 days’ extra food in case of travel complications. We have stainless steel bowls and scoops which are washed and sanitized between uses, so you can keep yours at home.
Your membership includes collar, harness, leash and seasonal gear at the Inn, so please keep your belongings at home. Remember to bring them back for pick-up though! 😊
Please provide all medications and supplements in their original packaging with prescription labels attached where appropriate. Everything you wish to be administered during your dog’s stay must be included in their current profile. Please do NOT put any type of medications or supplements into your dog’s food, be it in pill, powder, liquid, or other format.
What happens during the night – is there staff onsite?
This is a non-negotiable as far as Amanda (our alpha pack leader) is concerned. Our beloved dog guests have live, in-person supervision 24/7/365.
Requirements
What vaccines are required to come the Inn?
For the health and safety of all our guests and staff we require up-to-date vaccination records for Rabies, DHPP, and Bordatella, administered by a licensed Veterinarian. We also recommend Leptospirosis because we are located in a country setting. Heartworm treatments are also highly recommended.
We accept titer tests for dogs over 3 years old (except for rabies which is required by law in Ontario).
Does my dog need to be spayed or neutered?
We accept all dogs: spayed, neutered or unaltered. However, dogs in our Day & Night or Hybrid Care2 options who are distracting or disruptive will be switched to Solo Care2.
Unaltered females currently in heat cannot receive services, but are welcome to return after their cycle ends.
How old does my puppy need to be to come to ADI?
We accept puppies over 14 weeks old who have received their Rabies, DHPP and Bordatella vaccinations.
Are there any breeds you don’t accept?
As per the Dog Owners’ Liability Act (DOLA), we are unable to accept the following dogs:
- A pit bull terrier
- A Staffordshire bull terrier
- An American Staffordshire terrier
- An American pit bull terrier
- A dog that has an appearance and physical characteristics substantially similar to any of those dogs.
Food, Treats and Medications
Do I bring my dog’s food?
Yes, please! Dogs’ stomachs can be very sensitive to dietary changes, so bring the food your dog is used to receiving to help ensure they eat consistently while away from you, and to prevent loose stool, vomiting, or diarrhea. Concierge members have the added benefit of dedicated on-site food storage for your pooches.
What foods do you serve – dry, wet, raw?
We accommodate all dog food options! What’s more, we have experience with picky eaters, food inhalers who don’t chew, and everything in between, so your beloved furry friend is in good hands. Also, whether raw or prepared, we use stainless steel bowls which are washed and sanitized between uses.
Nutrition is a key part of a healthy, happy doggo, so we are careful about what we feed, and will make recommendations to support your dogs’ physical condition and longevity.
Should I bring treats?
We welcome single-use treats that your dog loves if we carry nothing similar. Single-use meaning they eat it in one sitting that takes less than 3 minutes. If your dog doesn’t like what we carry we’ll be in touch to find out what you give at home. That being said, some dogs just aren’t food motivated!
What treats do you offer at ADI?
Specifics coming soon, but we partner with local, single-ingredient or whole ingredient, treat makers and producers.
Will you administer my dog’s medications while they are at the Inn?
Absolutely! There is a nominal fee for administering medications, which must be provided in original packaging, particularly prescriptions. Please do NOT put pills, powders, gels or liquids into your dog’s food as we will not be able to give it to your dog(s).
